The organisation

OLGnova is a Nigeria-registered research and evidence organisation working in public health, digital innovation and strategic communication across Africa. Its work spans research and publication, surveys, electronic medical records, knowledge management and project management — with digital health tools deployed in resource-limited settings.

The problem

Research organisations publish constantly. Papers, reports, survey findings and programme updates arrive on their own schedule, and none of them wait for a developer to be available. A static site would have meant every new publication becoming a support request, and a backlog of work that never quite gets posted.

The site also had to do more than describe the organisation. It needed to carry the publication record credibly, present the service capabilities clearly to partners and funders, and give prospective collaborators a direct route to make contact.

What we built

A dynamic site backed by a content management system, structured around the organisation's own vocabulary rather than a generic template:

  • Publications and blog — dynamic, so new entries are added and updated without touching code or waiting on a release.
  • A CMS the client actually operates. This was the point of the engagement. Content is edited by the people who write it, on the day they write it.
  • Capability and about sections presenting the six service areas to partners, funders and prospective collaborators.
  • Partner and contact enquiry forms capturing enquiry type alongside the usual details, so messages arrive already sorted.
  • Responsive throughout, which matters for an audience reading on mobile across the region.

Why it matters

The measure of this kind of project is not how the site looked on launch day. It is whether the organisation is still publishing to it a year later without calling us. Content autonomy was the deliverable; the website was how it got delivered.
